As I sit
here this morning with my cup of tea watching a hummingbird at the feeder on my
patio, I知 very grateful.
I知 grateful
to have such a lovely place to live, where in the last week of November, I still
have hummingbirds and yellow finches gathering at the feeders in my back yard.
The finches bathe in the birdbath, splashing water up on their back, shake it
off, frolick and play with each other.
In my front
yard, I grateful for two tomato plants still producing ripe tomatoes.
It feels
good to just sit after the past 3 months of traveling: Paris in September,
Chicago in October and San Francisco in November.
I知
attempting to keep Paris alive. Just a few days ago my granddaughters and I got
all dressed up in our French berets and had a tea party. Then we went downtown
to run a few errands all dressed up in our tea-party clothes. How fun it is to
have two little girls who will play pretend with me.
October in
Chicago was beautiful. With a wide variety of trees in Chicago the fall colors
were more intense than here in California.
While in
Chicago I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with my sister and brother.
We池e all aging gracefully.
During this
month of Thanksgiving I'm expressing my gratitude for having such a blessed
life. I知 most grateful for the opportunity to work so intimately with people on
their path of personal and spiritual development.
I知 grateful
to be a grandmother. Never having known my own grandmothers, it is a gift to be
one. As I grandmother my grandkids, I grandmother myself as a little girl. Odd
how that works, isn't it?
I知 grateful
for my beautiful daughter and son-in-law, who teach me to mind my own business
by letting me know when I overstep my boundaries with advice-giving.
I知 grateful
for my faithful friends who show me how to live life on life痴 terms and be
patient with respect to all that I still want in my life.
I知 grateful
for my health, both physical and mental.
Rather than
focusing on what is missing in my life, I have finally learned to focus on what
is abundant in my life.
What are you
grateful for this month? What does your gratitude list look like?
Here痴 a
suggestion for a Year-End Completion Ritual for the month of December. Take 3
sheets of blank paper. On the first sheet write all your disappointments,
losses, failures and grief from this year. On the second write all your
successes, joys, celebrations, milestones and accomplishments. On the third
sheet, write down what you learned about yourself and life from the lists on
page 1 and 2. Do a ritual to release pages 1 and 2 (burn them or bury them).
Keep page 3, which contains lessons learned for the year. Don稚 be discouraged
if you have to keep relearning things. Most of us do. Blessings till we meet
again.
