    August 2009

GOOD NEWS.... I've decided to offer a Group Coaching Program starting this September. This is a great opportunity for people who want coaching but can't bear the cost of working one-to-one with a coach.

If you've ever been part of a group that really works well together, you know the benefits of this kind of work. If you have never experienced the incredible power of coaching, now's your chance to find out what power is available in a coaching relationship.

What ever issue you are facing in your life, you can bring it to a coaching group to get the support you need to address it. If something is stopping you from moving forward, now is the time to enlist the support of a powerful coach and a committed group of people who are up to the same thing,

There will be an introductory FREE Teleclass from 7-8 pm (PST) on Sept. 8th for those interested in participating in the group coaching.

To participate in the Free Teleclass you will simply dial a phone number from the convenience of your home or office and you will be on the line with the other folks in the group. Please contact me to attend this free teleclass to obtain the call-in number.

I envision this as a 3-month group with a total of 15 people. The cost will be low - determined by the number of attendees. I look forward to hearing from you. Email me at plaurent@gutsycoaching or call me at 707-578-4226.

I'm excited to share this powerful aspect of coaching with all of you.

Below are some of the benefits past clients have shared with me about the value they received from working with me.

"The coaching process turned my eyes inward rather that outward for solutions. I have learned to be more honest, identify my hidden agendas, be kinder to myself, access my softer side and embrace my vulnerability more." SC

"Your coaching is extremely valuable to me. I can't pay you enough for all the change that has taken place in my life since our coaching relationship began." PR

Allowing myself to feel tired, feel pain and to be gentle with myself feels wonderful...That is the greatest gift I received from you. I'm being gentle with myself and giving myself a chance to heal - not to rush anything - just let it happen naturally." RS

"I feel more freedom now. I don't feel trapped." WC

"Coaching with you has improved the quality of my personal life 500%." SA

"Working with you has opened my eyes to reality in ways that could have taken decades to discover on my own. I could not have taken the steps for myself, or the women I represent if it were not for you showing me the strength I have inside myself." JM

"You asked so many questions that required "brutal honesty" at times during our relationship. It forced me to look at myself, recognize and take responsibility for my behavior and become real." PR

I just returned from a week in Yosemite National Park. While I was browsing at The Sierra Club Lodge at Yosemite, I came across the book, entitled Affluenza: The All-Consuming Epidemic. AFFLUENZA is defined as a painful contagious, socially transmitted condition of overload, debt, anxiety and waste-resulting from the dogged pursuit of more.

Is our obsession with materialism indicative of our spiritual hunger?

Affluenza" looks at the paralyzing effects the fever to consume brings upon us and offers simple strategies to start curbing the disease at its core -- even if that's just by forcing you to ask yourself, "Do I really need this?" before your next purchase.

    roses in Calistoga Redefining Failure

James Hillman writes that every single person has a gift: however, this gift may be beaten out of us by conformity and control by others. Hillman suggests that a person becomes a genius to the extent that she stays in alignment with her greatest gifts.

Failure can serve to bring you into better alignment with your greatest gifts and passions.

When you face failure you have two choices: 1. You can believe that the failure gives you important guidance OR 2. That it means you are impaired in some way.

Which of these two beliefs would be more beneficial in moving forward? Which belief will you choose? Do you know that you have the power to choose?

A coach can help you find the gifts in failure and put it to good use in your future.

My greatest teachings have been borne out of failures. I'm grateful for the teachings even though at the time, I wanted to SCREAM.

Paul Orfalea, the man who started Kinkos, developed it into a global corporation and then sold it for 2.4 billion dollars was diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia as a child. He had a remarkable ability to bring new ideas into the world. One of his mantras is "You don't have to be good at everything - just really good at one thing."

So the SOLUTION is to EXPLORE what you're really good at and leave the rest to somebody else. You will be sustained. I promise.

The Universe gave you your God-given talents so that you could share them with the world. It's what you came here to do. What are your talents? Are you using them to be of service to the world? If not, maybe you need some support? If so, call me.

2 morning glories Planting Yourself in Fertile Ground

Here's the metaphor I like to use with potential coaching clients when they begin working with me. I ask them to imagine that they have just been planted in a very fertile container with all the nutrients available to promote their perfect growth.

In my training program I leaned very powerful tools for fertilizing people's personal, professional and spiritual growth.

Just as the alchemist adds ingredients to the mixture for optimum growth so do I as a coach.

The tools I have at my disposal may be very practical (time management skills) or very spiritual (surrender). The thing I loved most about my training program (which took about 2 years) is that the school was very spiritual in nature. At work in a coaching relationship is not just the client and the coach, but the Higher Wisdom of the Universe. Call that what you may. There are many names for it. It is born out of the commitment of the client and the coach for the greater good of the client. All this good feeds the client to accomplish the change they are yearning for. Their yearning is often their Higher Self calling for expression. That's why we came here on this planet "Earth". We came to express our highest good.

I invite you to begin that journey sooner rather than later.

AND, I invite you to begin it with me as your coach. Often we have to let go of our smaller self to become our Higher Self. Letting go of Gremlins, Self-Sabotage, Resentments and Fear are not easy, but possible with the support of one who has been down the road before you.
